At Shepherd's Grace Baptist Church we love our Pastor Eric Klerck! He has helped many of us go through difficult times with counseling and encouragement. He clearly pours his heart and life into studying God's word for the sake of preaching and teaching the truth. Our Pastor has a sincere love for people and a passion to see lives changed. His life is a testimony that God can use anyone who is willing to follow Him.

Pastor Eric grew up in South Africa and later became a naturalized citizen in America. He trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour on October 4, 1983, at the age of thirteen, during a revival meeting in Pretoria, South Africa.

In 2006, Pastor Eric lost his eyesight, and though this was a life-changing challenge, God used it to draw him closer and lead him into ministry. God placed within him a deep love for the Scriptures and a calling to shepherd His people. He preaches with boldness, depth, and clarity so people of all ages can understand biblical truths and grow spiritually.

Our Pastor was the first blind student at the Bible Doctrine Institute. He graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity in 2021 and was ordained into the ministry. He now faithfully serves as the founding Pastor of Shepherd's Grace Baptist Church in Sandpoint.

"Going blind was very difficult, but it became one of the greatest blessings in my life because it brought me closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. Though I lost my physical sight, God has given me clear spiritual vision. It has been my joy and privilege to serve as Pastor since the founding of our church in 2021.
